South Africa is home to the majority of the world’s rhinos, most of these rhino are resident on privately owned property.
State owned wildlife reserves, such as the world renowned Kruger National Park, have been at the forefront of a war where the illegal killing of rhino for their horn has raged in earnest since 2008. Between 2013 and 2017 more than 1000 rhinos were killed each year.
