A community hall or community centre provides a safe space where people living in the area can gather, and the community hall can provide opportunities for active living and recreation in a safe, inclusive environment.
Shambala Private Game Reserve and the EMS Foundation undertook the project to renovate, upgrade and refurbish the Leseding Community Hall in Molekoa Street in Vaalwater in Limpopo Province which was not previously usable or accessible to the community.
A sense of community is a feeling, a place of belonging, a feeling that members matter to one another and to the group, and a shared faith that members needs will be met through their commitment to be together. The provision of a safe space where the elderly members of the Vaalwater community can gather daily to cook, sew, sing, and be together was delivered to the community last week.
By creating a positive atmosphere, these facilities become essential to personal health and wellness. The community hall will become a focal point in this locality which will promote social relationship and mutual support develop a sense of self-reliance, social responsibility, and cohesion within the community, this will empower individuals and families in solving community problems and improving the quality of community life.
